Worship

Sunday when I was listening to Joel's band play at church, I was thinking about how the secular world must think it crazy for us to get together and sing to our God. But then I started thinking about how much music affects our lives. You listen to it in the car, at home, in stores, and while on hold on the phone. My students can't even walk from one class to another without turning their ipods on. Perhaps this incessant need to listen to music comes from the desire that is inside of us to worship something. Just something to think about.

What Kind of Superhero are You?

I just took the Superhero quiz (from Noel's blog) ---

I'm 83% James Bond 007
75% Maximus
67% Indiana Jones
67% William Wallace

Wow, I never knew I was so cool! My husband would be proud!

I love Sundays

I especially love Sundays when I go to church on Saturday nights. Then I get to sleep in and spend the whole day at home, well almost the whole day at home.

Joel has been sick this week. He has ear infections in both of his ears and hasn't been doing to much other than watching TV. We tried to go to Birch Run and do some Christmas shopping on Saturday but after three stores, we had to head home because he was feeling so aweful. I hope he gets feeling better soon --- for his sake and so we can go see all our relatives on Thanksgiving. Yep -- we're hitting them all! On Thursday we'll hang out with all of Joel's side of the family and then on Friday we'll go make all the rounds in Hobart to see my side of the family and then back up to Molly & Myron's for Joel's imediate side of the family on Saturday. Yeah -- this is what you get when you go away for Christmas.

I've been sitting here trying to think of something deep or meaningful to chat about, but I'm too tired. I think my body is ready for the semester break. I've been failing asleep by 9 pm almost any chance I can get.

Oh, good news. (it just popped into my head.) My cousin and his wife just found out they are pregnant. That makes baby number 2 on the Schwuchow side. (Yes, I dodge the baby bullet for another year!)

Ok, I'll quit my rambling and let you get back to something more meaningful or productive!

I need patience.

It's nearing the end of the semester and I'm starting to lose patience with some of my students. I'm beginning to become a bit snappy with them. Please pray for me that God will grant me the patience I need for the rest of my semester.
It really bugs me when my attitude becomes like this because my students are seeing me and not seeing Christ through me. So please pray that I won't be frustrated when I have to answer the same question four times in a row!

The Magic Eraser

I love the Magic Eraser (it's a cleaning product made by MR. Clean). It cleans everything so well --- marks off walls, scum off bathtubs, grim off the stove and refrigerator and even candle soot off of candle holder. It makes my life so much easier!

I've been a lazy bum lately. I've taken every opportunity I could in the past two weeks to stay in my pjs, not put in my contacts and to go to sleep early. Last night I was fast asleep long before the opening kick of the football game. So that's why I haven't been blogging. Sheer laziness!

My abs hurt

My mom and her friend, Lori, came up to visit us this weekend. We had a GREAT time hanging out and shopping! I haven't laughed as hard as I did this weekend for quite a while. After they left this morning, Joel and I decided we'd have a pajama day together. So sorry if you were looking for us at church today.

Wow!

You have to know that your life is really boring when all you have to blog about for two weeks is the list of things you accomplish on your pajama day. I'm pathetic!
