What would Jesus Do?

I have a bit of a dilemma on my hands. LCC faculty have been working without a new contract since July 2005. Negotiations have been going on for about 15 months and no real progress has been made. So the union is considering a strike in mid-April if things do not progress. I'm really struggling with the thought of striking. I feel that is very unfair to my students who are faithfully coming to class and have paid for the class. Many of my students are full time students who work full time jobs. They work hard to pay for their classes. So I feel it is unfair for me not to teach them and to not be faithful to them. However, I think the administration is being unfair to its employees.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thank You

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who have graciously given towards our trip to Mexico. We were given our first support update today. So far, Joel and I have one of our trips paid for! We haven't been given the list yet of who has supported us, but I wanted to give a general thank you. You guys are so amazing! We really appreciate your generosity.

Stokley's best weekend ever

Stokley and I took the weekend and went to visit my parents in Indiana. I decided that since he was going on the trip, he should have to do all the running for the trip also. He went with me to get the oil changed in the car, to the bank, to get gas and even to McDonalds -- (I let him have one french fry). Then we made a fun stuff at PetSmart to get him a big bone for the weekend.

Upon his arrival at my parents house, he turned into the king of the house. Grandpa feed him treats anytime he did anything. Nana let him up on all her furniture. Not to mention that someone was always talking to him or petting him.

On Saturday he was treated to a long walk around the entire golf course (with no leash) and got to play in the hose while Grandpa washed all the vehicles. Then he spent the rest of the afternoon lounging on the deck watching the golfers and birds. What a life!!!

On Sunday he was able to play with his cousins, a Newfoundland and a golden retriever.

Don't we all wish every weekend could be this wonderful!!

By the way,I had a really good time visiting with my family. My mom and I went to IKEA where I got a couple of cute little decorations for the house. I'd love to go back with Joel and look at furniture.

But now, Spring Break is over and it's back to work!

Friendship

This weekend has been the most relaxing fun time that I've had in a long time. My three closest friends from Grace College came to spend the weekend with me. We had an absolute blast staying up till 4am catching up on each other's lives and remembering the past.
On Saturday, we treated ourselves to manicures, peticures and some shopping at Birch Run Outlet mall.

This weekend has made me realize how thankful I should be for true friendships. The kind where you can not talk or see each other for a year or so and just pick right back up where you left off. The kind of friends that if you needed them, they'd drive four hours to just see you for two!

So thanks Mari, Autumn and Lori for your wonderful friendships! I love ya!
